It isn't surprising in the least; these figures have been out there for a while. Over half of those gains came in Clinton's two terms, and were fueled by a natural recovery from the recession that began under Bush 41, followed by the capital gains tax cut in 1997 and the ensuing tech boom. This is a fact not lost on Clinton, I might add. And most of the gains for Republicans came under Reagan.

Uh........it was not just Clinton. Carter produced 10 million jobs in his short 4 years. Yes, the president you all love to bash did quite well as president.

And when you factor in that the deficit grew the most under R presidents and that the only thing Rs were good at was starting wars, and I believe you have a scenario that is significantly unpleasant to most Americans.

Rs have won elections only thru smoke and mirrors and promising unending tax cuts. You can't govern effectively. Well, you all are pretty much at the end of your road. You best go thru a major redo like I have been suggesting for years, or you will become a regional party of little value. The choice is up to you all.
