To Trufflette and anyone else who cares to chek this out

Trufflette posts >> Shorted Citicorp last week @ 119 and change <<

Don't feel alone! I shorted 4 banks and 3 brokerage firms myself.

Why? Well why not ... here are some basics I look at that may be worth you all checking out as well

Little questions to ask yourself from time to time.

When was the last time Money Line, the Wall Street Journal, Wall Street Week, or any brokerage co. or investment show anywhere ever said...

Well gang it's over!

It's been a nice run but I think we finally got to where the party is over for a few years. Time to just sell and move on.... :-)
NEVER!... and you Never will either!

When the last time you heard Lou Dobbs or Luis Rukeyser ask some annalyst..

Gee Mr Gucci Suit... know of any stocks that are a real good SALE right now?

Heck No!!! What you nuts... sell somthing!!!... gosh.. I think it's Un-American isn't it? :-)

They tell you to be diversified but its BUY BUY BUY everything.

This gang is not being diversified... it's called being long the world.

Now if a borker says to you ...
I'd be long Intel but I might want to sell and even buy some put options looking for Apple to get hit hard here near term and take advantage of a sell off.. Maybe have 10% in gold, some in a MMF and a few put options to protect ourselves from your larger buy positions you have among the 40 companies you own... that's being diversified...

But.. your never going to hear that... you r just going to hear ..

epople buy stocks... options are bad and only professionals short stocks.. Hmmmm .,.. if selling short is so bad ever ask them why the people that do it are referred to as Preofesssionals?

These cowboys will never tell you to sell or get short anything. yet... is it not part of the game? It is but they would rather sweep it under the rug and pretend it dosn't exist because its bad for business in the long run.

My point is they are always going to tell you this or that is still undervalued and that the market is not overpriced. Heck!... its their job for crying out loud!

If you listen to them the only time the market goes down is for
PROIFIT TAKING!
Makes it sound like nobody ever loses!!
I have yet to hear the market went down because people bought it when it was to high and had to get out to meet margin call.. they were dead wrong and lost their shirts!!!

No.... it was ... yep.... profit taking :-)

Today your a sophisticated investor if you take a Valium and Prozac... watch the market dive 1000 points but don't sell a share claiming... I'm sophisticated... I invest long term!

I know of quite a few holders of Bre-x and they sure look pretty damn sophisticated to me right now:-)

Include Diana Corp., Solvex, Comparitor and a few other. These were all high flying momentum plays that were going to the moon. But you won't hear Lou Dobbs talk about them anymore. Look at Comparitor! It trad4ed more shares in a single day than any one stock in the history of the markets. Its toast today.
Does Lou ever say. boy.. remember that ol Comparitor stock? . Oh no!. you'll only hear him say how in the last crash if you did not panic and stayed in. you'd be ahead today. Great Lou ! Tell that to the Bre-X crowd as well . I don't think they are getting any cash back because they were sophisticated and didn't panic..!
I can name more than a few such other long-term stick and stays that you got cleaned out on.

Yet. they spew this dribble every time the market crashes a few hundred points and people believe this dribble

Use your heads gang! These idiots have no more idea what the future is than you or I. But. you stop playing the game and they are out of a job. Like a casino. now that they have you at the table, they never want you to stop playing. Don't believe the hype you read and hear.

Anyone that buys into this markets demagoguery is nuts. It's their job to make it look good and to keep you playing the game all thee time. The companies that make this market are never going to give you folks a sell signal. They are going to have you stick and stay and buy every dip till all your money is gone. JMHO but I used to work in the industry. I'm not shooting from the hip... I know a little how the game is played and don't get caught up in the day to day sound bit they throw at you.

I'll take common sense over any big 4's market summery any day!
