According to GAAP, preferred constitutes equity. That is also true of the old junior subordinated convertible bonds such as AES-C. The fact that they are really debt is obscured in the accounting treatment.

I think that it is bizarre and unusual behavior on your part to solicit information from me privately one day, and then make a public song-and-dance about ignoring me two days later. I didn’t expect to receive any thanks from you for taking the time to write to you privately (no thanks were received), but I certainly didn’t expect what I did get (your public disdain). I also didn’t expect you to reciprocate in the exchange of information since I already knew from your odd questions and your past posts on the Yahoo board that you don’t know anything worth sharing. Anyway, if reciprocation were all that important to me, I wouldn’t bother to answer the many questions that ill-informed people like you constantly ask. I have good reason to believe that you are rude, stupid and hypocritical, but I still wish you good luck. In the absence of knowledge and sound judgement, you are definitely going to need it!
