In some ways coaching or being with ones child is completely selfish. If the child wants to hit you over the head with a bat all the time you do not want to be there but you do. Then there is no selfish involved just we work to make it better.

In the past 8 years I have coached four soccer teams and 12 baseball teams. I ran the fallball program at the little league for 5 years and was a spring division commissioner for six years.

I am assuming you and your spouse are in this together as it is not a simple thing to do by oneself. There is very little juggling time to get to the market get the kids to school get to work buy clothes do the laundry etd etc It boils down to how much we can do to help our kids and how many hours there are in a day. If we are fortunate enough to have someone aid us like our spouse it is wonderful. If we do not we have to make the money to pay for help or cut down on what we can do for our children as income must meet bills.

Look if you have a job that takes 12 hours out of you day. You are so happy that another person is willing to help your child and you as you can have a couple of extra hours of rest. However if we live our lives wishing for the situation someone else has we can be very miserable.

I have a car that works it is is not a 2012 but it works and I am very glad I can get to where I want to go. More so when the 2012 sits on the street and the auto club has to send a tow truck. Next I may have that 2013 brand new car but I am enjoying what i have right now.

There is no easy answer it is all about what works for you and how you keep you happy.
