What slope of stripes on a tie reflects a candidate's or a speaker's outlook? And how should an alert candidate or his staff look at a tie? As it will be seen on TV or video replays, in photographs, in black and white for newspapers? Now look at Bill Clinton's tie and Barack Obama's. They know how to get ready for a picture. I'm not sure about Biden's tie. Now look at Ryan and Romney. They look like they checked how they looked in the mirror. Their ties had patterns sloping from upper left to lower right.
