Romney's biggest problem if he runs from behind, is that he has to get more shrill and negative to turn out his base. The high road with independents probably won't be available to him.
Excellent point. Completely agree. But it's also true that he managed to come back from those losses. I think he's extremely cagey. And politically resourceful.

I've been reading that the key debate will be the first one. I'm not so certain. I think Romney will learn how to do it and be much more effective by the last one; whereas Obama doesn't have much room for improvement.

It may play out a little differently this time around. Romney can count on super-pacs loaded with corporate money to come into states where he needs help. They want his rubber stamp in the Oval orfice. He's not supposed to "co-ordinate" with them though. Riiiight...
