thanks much for the terminology. metastock is too much of a time & effort investment for me; i am content doing things in a halfhearted manner, by way of free charting on the web. fwiw, one site i really like is bigcharts.com. i don't think it does the equivolume stuff, but does a lot of other interesting charts, and its charts are quite readable. it's a free site ( you have to put up with ads). wallstreetcity.com does equivolume, but it's a pay site... and if you're gonna pay, you might as well buy metastock.
