Except, that doesn't fit the news of that day. Boner left thinking he had a deal, said so at the time, later renigged after being told by the Tea Partiers that he didn't have the votes.

Obama, nervous about how to defend the emerging agreement to his own Democratic base, upped the ante in a way that made it more difficult for Boehner — already facing long odds — to sell it to his party.

That's exactly what I said at the beginning of this exchange. Obama was worried about satisfying his base and Boehner had and still doesn't have control over his caucus.

This is not new news. Woodward has become an attention whore........nothing more; nothing less.
