I guess a smart person like you was not thinking of the DOS (FAT) filesystem?> No. A normal person like myself in this situation is thinking about a standard filesystem command like "SYNC" before going to power-down mode. The SYNC was around for 15 years in every UNIX system. Since you apparently are not familiar with this concept, I can give you a hint: SYNC function flushes the file cache to disks. The famous Windows95 "operating system" seems to be lacking this major security finction, and that is why a power off in sleep mode results in file system corruption and data loss. To shut a sleeping PC down, you need to wake everything up (wasting your time), and go through the "Start/shutdown" button. Any more questions? Wanna more to bubble about?
