Concur in part, and though we have not spoken in some time, you know I respect your prior service to America.

So when you ask why we put Obama up for election the two answers are clear to me….first Hillary Clinton and then, even more emphatically, John McCain and Sarah Palin.

My response - - OK I get your past view, but going forward, Hillary, McCain and Palin are out of the picture and not relevant to the discussion about electing a president this year.

I think an ancient but wise philosopher would explain our dilemma like this:

"If you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle." ~ Sun Tzu

Speaking frankly, ya’ll elected an unknown Trojan Horse and America has suffered mightily for it.

Many on both sides think he did a great job because we are out of Iraq, but forget or ignore that he has expanded hostilities across Africa and we are about to get underway in South Southeast Asia again.

He remains a person of puzzling or contradictory character or, if you will, an enigma. In my mind electing him again will be the equivalent of another deliberate self-inflicted wound but this time with our eyes wide open.

As for medical care – America is renowned for our medical care. It has expanded virtually without limit. I believe that is because most hospitals and medical centers are non-profits and pay no taxes. While you are looking at that, consider using something similar for all American businesses.

I am not ignoring the need to slash spending AND increase revenue. I believe a flat tax will accomplish enough of both
