You guys are so pessimistic. You're probably too smart for your own good, overanalytical.
I think this is the second time I have to say no, speaking only for myself. Not pessimistic, realistic.

I look at all sides: the good, the bad and the ugly.

And I believe we'll get a warning from Elop in the weeks before October 18. The numbers on that day will not be pretty. Then, after that, I'll start looking at NOK again, in terms of a trade/investment.

Realistic, in my never humble opinion. ;-)

P.S. Speaking of good, Nokia got an additional two bucks from me today cause I bought this app for the panorama function; the rest of the apps I'll never use on my Nokia 808 PureView:

Nokia Store: Download Camera Lover Pack and many other games, wallpaper, ringtones and phone apps on your Nokia phone

The panorama part is very slick, though. LOVE it! :-))

Nokia will be just fine. There are too many interests lined up to make it succeed. QCOM, once a bitter enemy and the reason behind Nok's failure in the US imho, is now backing it strongly. MSFT too for obvious reasons. Telcos as well, needing a fractured marketplace instead of a duopoly. That's a lot of heavyweights with a vested interest.
-------------------

I find several flaws in that logic.
Why would Qom care? They win whoever sells a phone, pretty much.
Msft don't care, the numbers from Nokia won't even be a decimal point on their profit nok win or lose. ( just search for "Microsoft threw Nokia under a bus"
The carriers hate Nokia now because they hate Skype. Don't take my word for that though, take Elops !

The issue is... none of those "heavyweights" have any ability that matters to FORCE consumers to buy crap that doesn't work... or stuff that doesn't appeal to them... for whatever reason. So, even if the only reason is that they shat themselves with the release, and focused all kinds of effort on lining up the "systemic support"... but still forgot to make a phone that anyone will actually WANT... ???

It's not all NOK's fault... because the industry is pretty screwed up... with imbalance in the market imposed by carriers... who don't have a reason I can see to have any impact at all on which phones consumers buy...
