I think I have to revise my opinion. You bring good arguments.

But what if they make their J++ fully supportive/adaptale to the Java standard? They couldn't lose more than they may be losing anyway now.

If the marketplace will accept Java on a broad basis, they will have no choice but give in to it, I think. They could still develop a good (easy to handle, convenient) development tool for Java and good applications.
