I agree in principle with your points but I am not convinced that fundamental issues drive the stock except in the very long term ( I am a long term investor and a short term gambler in Ligand). We probably have better research on this thread than 90 percent of the other threads. What causes the wild swings in the price of Ligand stock? Is the float price dominated by short term traders? Is this a typical pattern for development stage companies or development stage bioteck companies? Will this wild swing fade to a straight line if the stock moves from 30 to 130?

LT investors don't pay attention to short term spikes either. Guess we're all ST on this thread :-) (Definition of a LT Treader: A ST trader after the stock drops :-))

I haven't noticed that. I certainly have been here before and after $18, and I have not 'disappeared' when the stock rose (although there are some of you who have tried to make me disappear when the stock drops). I have noticed that the LGND bulls never mention when the stock downticks (they do when it upticks, so I guess you could say that they disappear from the thread whenever the price drops).

Wow, you're cranky today, you're sarcasm is getting as bad as others on this thread :-)

>>If anyone who has been really down on the stock would like to research it:::It's a biotech development company, NASDAQ symbol LGND, full name: Ligand Pharmaceuticals, Inc. The company is located in San Diego, CA.

Hope I didn't lose anyone's attention by going too fast.<<

I think you are asking too much of some people, Ken, if you expect them to remember all that. (:>)
