I hire traders, I fire traders,.....

Donald, I hear what you are saying. This is similar to all those black box software ads, trading strategy ads, etc. If they really worked, why would anyone sell them for paltry amounts? They would be too busy burning money to even bother.

So, since you daytrade at home with your own money, perhaps you could help with a tip or two. In the near future, when my consulting assignment ends, I plan to stay home and day trade my cash for a while. Could you provide any good tips or info?

Jack Schwager (Market Wizards) lives in my area and we were recently chatting at the pizza shop. The most important thing he said to me was "You're on your own". How true; there are no hot tips or secret formulas. But it is important to network, meet other traders, learn from other's experiences, etc. Any info you could provide along those lines would be appreciated.

Harry

Donald,

I handle this an a previous message but my answer is pretty simple:
1. I do well trading my own account AND get a handsome salary to run the firm.
2. I have an equity stake in the firm.
3. I need more out life, developing a business, a career, opportunties, relationships with individuals, than simply trading for xx hundred dollars per day.

How long have you been trading? What are you earning each year? Have you thought about what you could earn as a head trader at a firm, or by starting a hedge fund, mutual fund, etc. relative to what you make as a trader?
