We have just learned the hard way not to interfere in Muslim countries. At least I would hope we had. All I can say for sure is that you would play hell getting us to commit ground troops to a war anywhere now. You might remember that both sides were for going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Looking back, we should have done Afghan as a raid and let Iraq simmer. All we have ended up doing is helping Iran dominate the area. I have gone so far as recommending that we get rid of our standing Army and keep the AF, Navy, Marine Corps and Army Special Forces. Put the rest to reserves. I don't want us to be in a position to go to WWIII. Raid, yes. With what I recommend, we could still take down anybody. But no more invasion and occupy. Will we do this? Of course not. But I would like to see some thinking along this line come to the fore. I believe that we won the Cold War when Reagan called Russia an "Evil Empire." We will start winning the Islamic war when we call them what they are. The worst culture on the planet.
