After reading the Barron's article about COMS's cable modem potential.

Is cable modem a one time product like a regular cable box; or something like the analog phone modem which has evolved from 1400 to 2800 to 14400 to 28800 to 56000? (whicn means users have to buy modems over and over again as the standard changes...)

The article is surely a very positive one for 3com. let's hope the predictions will come true.

BTW, where does the 4.09 billion dollar revenue figure (Motley Fool) come from? I thought they were almost making 6 billion in 97.
