A statement issued by the White House this evening denied claims that President Obama had refused to meet with Israel’s prime minister, Bibi Netenyahu. ”Contrary to reports in the press,” the statement argues, “there was never a request for Prime Minister Netanyahu to meet with President Obama in Washington, nor was a request for a meeting ever denied.”

Does ANYONE actually believe this?

"The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect the views of the United States government," a senior administration official told POLITICO.
