Michael: Westell is going to use both solutions. I'm hoping MOT is ready with their samples for an announcement next week. Westell, AMTX and Ericsson all have primary/secondary DMT chip suppliers. During the Westell/AMTX merger CC, GS indicated that Westell received their MOT DMT sampling chips. MOT may finally be ready for general sampling with production level quantities in 1Q98 or 2Q98. I think we're on the same page... until later.

Michael --

I believe Amati received some version of CG and they sent it back. Calling it a "working chip" was a euphemism. When something's released whether for testing or as "commercially available," ask exactly what's meant. ADI, for example, made a big splash when their ADSL chip came out. Few knew it wasn't running at full speeds.

If Motorola releases CG at the ADSL Forum, I'll be the first to ask exactly what speeds, at what distances, using what power consumption.

Just my take.
