Obama hid. Hillary hid.
The state department apologized for offending the radical muslims. To me, that gives these guys carte blanche to continue the attack.

The administration should have immediately called on the governments of these countries to repel the protesters, and immediately mobilized our appropriate military units in response.

I think another way to look at this is to reverse the situation.

Imagine if a mob of Americans surrounded the Egyptian consulate in Washington D.C. and breached the walls and started attacking the building. If the American government didn't immediately squelch the protest, it would be complicit in the attack.

The Libyan and Egyptian police and military are not shown in any of the videos of the protests. Where are they? Why aren't they breaking up mob? Why isn't Obama letting those governments know that attacking our embassies is an act of war and that there are going to be ramifications beyond just a sharply worded letter? "Condemning in the strongest terms" is a wimp response. The response should be "If there is an attack on our embassies and you don't protect them, we are going to come in and protect them ourselves."
