I think that's right; however, by all rights it should be a small thing compared with the incompetence of the Obama administration. But the media won't see it that way.

Had he said nothing, he would have been attacked as spineless.

He said what he believed and risked the PR consequences. It's time we had a leader in the WH.

Of course he'll be attacked -- by our news media. But what I'm seeing is that he's showing some kind of leadership, getting out in front and saying some things that OUGHT to be said, instead of going wobbly like our President and Secretary of State.
