Bingo, don't pay off our debt? You be sitting by yourself on that idea. If we forfeit, no country would ever loan to us again. Our free money at close to zero interest rates goes away. Anyone who would loan to us would demand such a high interest rate premium we would again soon drown in our debt. BUT what that would do is require us to live within our means which is pretty much what I have been arguing for a long time. You do realize that the safety nets that we now have and are financing with foreign dollars also goes away ..........don't you?
