>>CPQ has about 750MM shares now at 60/share. It will split, so it will have 1.5B at 30/share. The remaining 1.5B shares (of the 3B authorized shares after 12/11), if used for a purchase that is totally non-dilutive, would be worth 1.5B x 30/share = $45Billion. (ASND at 8 x sales would cost under $10B).<<

Gary,

Do you really believe that if CPQ were to suddenly double their shares the value per share would remain the same at $30? Why not just issue a boat load of shares and then buy CSCO, 3COM and MSFT too?

I've read all your posts on "CPQ/Networking" and aside from the fact that CPQ has some interest in networking how do you make the quantum leap that they want to own ASND? Other than you wishing this were true when has CPQ or anyone else with any credentials in the mergers and aquisitions world tied these two companies together? I don't mean to be argumentative I am just asking the question because I really want to know.

Best to all,

LJM
