Both the State and DOD need a clean sweep. It would take a least one year to accomplish assuming the new leadership of each Department had the spine to get it done.

I am not sure Romney is up to it.

Beautifully and poignantly said, Bill.

My husband's nephew is with the State Department. Over the past five years he has been assigned in South American and Asia, is currently in D.C. and will be moving to an assignment in the Middle East next year. He has worked in the embassies during each assignment.

The disheartening thing about his 'evolution' since beginning this kind of work has been his change from being moderately pro-Israel to adamantly Arabist. And we can trace this change in philosophy to nothing more than indoctrination he must have received since becoming a member of the U.S. State Department. As much as I'd like to, I cannot blame the Obama administration for that state of affairs. It has been going on through many of the previous administrations as well.
