Jim, I stand corrected: Military Contracts are important to APAT:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GaN Transistor Development
GaN transistor development activities at APA, funded by the U.S.
Navy and the Strategic Defense Initiative Office, are aimed at
developing needed fabrication technologies for transistors capable of operating at frequencies as high as
40GHz and temperatures up to 500o C. This should significantly reduce the size and weight of amplifiers used in device applications, such as radars, mobile phones and satellites.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The transistor project is the third leg of APAT's intital concentration in modular optic components, the first two being the UV Detector Project, and the second being the Ultra-Violet and Blue Laser Project, according to info provided earlier on the thread..
APAT has also stated an intent to produce an integrated WDM Unit, after an initial concentration on the three Projects mentionsed above.
Will have to see what the fourth project, "CMR" turns out to be...
((My wife "rearranged" my email file <g> ... sigh ))
Have a good day. dlo
