"In both Egypt and even more in Libya — where Obama applied military force to dislodge and topple Moammar Qaddafi — the White House left power vacuums that allowed the most radical elements to seize control. Critics of Obama's policies in both regards warned of this very outcome eighteen months ago, to no avail."

Now there is probably nothing to this - but it strikes me as odd that the Arab Spring involves overthrowing totalitarian regimes for Democracy, but each of these is rapidly devolving towards rabidly anti-Western Theocracies.

The only currently rabidly anti-Western Theocracy had its own version of an Arab Spring - and this administration stood on the sidelines and let its leaders die.

No pattern that I can see.
