The fallacy is that the right wing, your approach, to the debt is unworkable

The debt cannot be dealt with if the economy is stifled ie austerity

That is simply foolish and unworkable on its face

Arithmetic

You cannot cut enough to get to "within our means" without destroying the country

To even consider that a possibility is wishful thinking if not downright childish

So how do we deal with the structural problem of debt

We have to grow our way out of it and generate a realistic level of revenue

That means, as any business man knows, you have to keep the doors open

Sometimes banks and or borrowing are useful for this

It boggles the mind that this obvious strategy, the Krugman approach, is violently rejected by folks who are clueless in how to deal with these problems

You can either learn from history or repeat it....
