DD: Storing the date in different formats is definitely NOT a new idea, nor is using that particular technique about to place the Y2K sector in trouble.

If it were that easy, this whole thing would have blown over 20 minutes after Chicken Little first started running around in circles.

It's not a new idea, it won't be impacted, it's not credible, it doesn't matter, there is no silver bullet.

Ask your local Cobol programmer for details.

David, I don't care whether you store the dates as 10 character, 8 character, 6 character, Bigitized, packed binary, Julian, julienne, raw or marinated... you still have to find them!

Nevertheless, if the guy decides to go public he'll probably be a millionaire overnight. Better yet, if he sells a single copy of his solution for $1 to one of his relatives, he can even claim he's more profitable than ZITL.
