OT -- E*trade -- I am not sure who is at fault, but after my initial frustration, etrade handled everything 100%. They credited my accounts for a more than any transaction costs, and I came out better than whole. I earn interest on the CDR-As that I now re-own (until redeemed), and pay no margin on any accounts that went cash negative. No complaints now, except for the time it took to sort it all out.

There were two issues. Shares of CDR-B were issued (under par) before the press release, and CDR-A shares were being called before having a chance for existing trades to settle -- this occurred before the press release and before trading was halted.
