There have been congresses before that were able to compromise and actually make the country better.

You can't just JERK the country to the far right or far left and figure the people that get screwed in the process will just lay back and enjoy it.

If you want to move the country to the right or left you have to move gradually. If you don't you're gonna see everything "whipsaw" on ya and your Tea Party Don Quixotes are gonna become persona non grata pretty quick.
