Mitt Romney and the R's say that a coach is fired when the team does not do well. But what they don't say that a winning team is one where all share in the victory and it is just not attributed to a coach or to management. These folks do not stand there and say "We built it." Instead they give credit to the fans and the players.

The problem for Mitt and the Rs is that they are having a hard time convincing Americans that the team is not doing well. Did you see the jump in consumer sentiment yesterday? I have never seen in move that much in one month.

That is the paradox in this American society I do not understand. It is a "what is convenient for me at the time" type of thinking not that broadbased philosophy type that is evident in Oriental communities and religious leaders like the Dalai Lama of today and the Sun Yat Sen, Confucius of yesteryears.

I think things changed after WW II from what it was like before the war. From what I have read, before that war, Americans were much more into working together for the common good and planning ahead. Now it seems Americans are more into self aggrandizement and quick gratification. I hate to blame everything on race or ethnicity but I think people are reluctant to work together because they fear/resent people will benefit who don't deserve to benefit. The result for me.........is that this country feels like a roller coaster where we run most of the time with 2 wheels off the track. Not a good feeling.
