<< Herb writes what amounts to a investment gossip column, and it generally makes for
interesting reading >>

Don't forget the NYT had the same kind of things to say. Also, all I had to do was take one look at the author of the Barrons story to know it wasn't worth reading. Bill Alpert has a major bias and his articles show it.

<< However, to use a 1.5 month old link to one of his dailies for news that has
since been beaten to a pulp undermines your argument's credibility. >>

For cryin out loud, I'm sorry I posted it now. I'm going to say it ONE MORE TIME. The reason why I posted the link was because I COULD NOT FIND the actual story on SI. I challenge you to find the actual write-up or a link to it on SI. I don't see how the issue can be beaten to a pulp here at SI if it hasn't even been posted. There was a mention in the Motley Fool about the write-up along with their summary of it. SOME PEOPLE actually like to read the article for themselves, not the Fools interpretation of it. Since I took the trouble to find it this morning and I hadn't seen the article posted here I thought I would provide a link in case someone else wanted to read it. Heck, I didn't even post the text, it was just a link. If you don't want to read it just skip my post.

<< Apparently the bad news
is completely built into the stock price, if this is the best a short can come up with to make a
point. >>

You go on believing that and I will believe what I want to believe. We'll see who's right in the next month or two.

<< I'm hoping 3coms chose to clean out the channel instead of trying to make the quarter. >>

If I thought that all of COMS problems could be solved by just having 1 bad quarter and cleaning out the channel I probably wouldn't be short here. I contend that COMS has pulled stunts like this before and COMS hasn't had a good quarter all year.

<<...If they take a significant profit and revenue hit, thus leading to a plunge in stock price, it will make for an excellent long term buying opportunity...>>

I agree - for whatever it's worth.
