Larry Ellison was featured this past Friday on CNN's Pinnacle program, along with the CEO of Netscape.

My impression of Ellison was not too favorable; for a start he seems obsessed with all things Japanese. It's a personal quirk of his, and I suppose it's his business, what matters is how he runs ORCL.

It is tough to make a judgement because it's impossible to know if this is the way the producers slanted the program, or if this is the way Larry directed the interview.

In any case he said nothing about databases, nothing about applications, but a fair amount about NCs. If I didn't already own ORCL, there was nothing in his presention that would have convinced me to buy it.

I don't know who at Lehman follows it but I think they love it too. I always see them saying buy it.
