As a non-tecnical, computer illiterate investor I currently hold a trivial position in SUNW. Most posters on this thread seem to feel that MSFT has poorly designed products. In a recent cover story in Forbes or Business Week Magazine they discuss MSFT developing a very elite research division with the top "brains" across a wide array of technilogical fields. Is this Gates ace-in -the hole. What is the likelyhood of MSFT possibly being able to do an end around or leap-frog over SUNW technology? Sincere thanks and appreciation to all the people who have been posting on the pros and cons of the various technologies and especially the first hand reports of how things are in the "real" world.

I think you bring very valuable input to the "software side" of SUNW sonsiderations on this board.

Do you know of any good weblinks where I can learn more about the concept of Java Beans and COBRA?

A blunt, strictly personal question: In your pinion/ experince/ conversations with colleagues: Who currenlty has the best Java Development Suite/Kit out? On what hardware platforms can you develop with it - if that matters at all.

And an Off-topic: Do you have any views to share on Rational Software tools/products? Do you use/know the products? If so, it would be nice if you checked in on the RATL board sometimes.

Thanks very much,
Thomas
