And Obama,, whatever else, is sane, smart and a decent man, and Romney is the devil incarnate.

That's an extreme statement. Romney is not Satan. He simply believes in a smaller government than you do and he believes in a balanced budget. I do to. To believe in fiscal responsibility and in self-reliance is not the same thing as being Satan.

I honestly believe that over the long run, the bleeding heart philosophy of running deficits to take care of everyone is the same thing as giving everyone fish instead of teaching them how to fish for themselves. The former sure makes you feel good, but then the person is never better off and always is dependent on your largesse. The latter makes everyone feel better over the long run, because everyone learns to take care of themselves.

I like the idea of a small safety net for people, so they can pick themselves up when they fall. But I'm resolutely against a massive government nanny state, which is essentially what our government has become. 75% of the expenditures in our budget are for Entitlements and welfare. That's just crazy. And no, it is not sustainable. We simply don't have the money for it.

It is immoral to steal from our children to pay for today's largesse. If the people want all these benefits, then raise the taxes to pay for it...don't put it on our children. Those who want to add to our debt are the real Satan's spawn in this country.
