I was a drill seargent as we decorated the kids tree. We bought them their own tree last year with unbreakable ornaments, and they decorated it for the first time today. I sat in a little tykes chair and put the wire hangers on and barked commands. Somehow that was not the way I had imagined it, but they had not a clue. Patrick hung all his ornaments on the same branch to start with. It looked...like a closet, as he had hung these flat little wooden ornaments side by side put very tightly together. After correcting this problem I noticed that Molly and Pat were hanging the satin balls at the very tips of the branches. I have no idea how they got them to stay on. As soon as I tried to reposition them a whole bunch of them fell off and rolled all over the floor. Some are still under the couch.

I can't wait to do our tree, the Grownup tree, with my excssive collection of ornaments. I am very anal retentive about this and do it all by myself every year. I like it this way and shudder to think of the day when I may have to share. But that time is not yet here.
