IMHO running Bain capital and being/running for President are apples and oranges.

Bain and the US are clearly different entities........but both require some of the same qualities.......like ability to manage and to delegate. Not seeing those qualities in Mitt in terms of his campaign.

Not only are they different, the only evidence I see of Romney's role at Bain Capital was as founder and rainmaker (for an investment company, a person who brings in the money).

He brought in the initial limited partners' money and probably some of the later investors money, which is what he and other owners got a percentage of each year (usually 2% a year); and he got most of the owners' share (usually 20%) of the net of gains less losses because he had all the voting rights (we don't know how much went to non-voting Bain owners or employees or others).

That's similar to how he won the Republican nomination. He raised more money.

It might be the biggest reason he was able to turn around the 2002 Olympics.

If he could raise the capital to refinance all the U.S. debt and finance the deficits until he balances the budget, that still would not qualify him to be President.

Would he be a good Treasury Secretary?
