You guys make out like this is something new. EVERY campaign has to "etch sketch". My god, look at Obama. There were ACTUALLY people on this thread -- you remember Michael, who four years ago thought Obama was a moderate! Even as it was pointed out to him time and again by me and others that the guy was an extreme left winger.

The state of the electorate is such that to win both a primary and a general election every candidate must present himself differently within the scope of one year. That is a political fact of life for our presidential candidates. ALL of them. So, how do you hold it against one candidate and not the other.

Romney has been fairly stable in his positions when contrasted with the candidate you supported in 2008.

it matters what the effect of Romney's right wing campaign is having on the middle votes he needs to win...
Who are these "middle voters," Al? Do they lean conservative? Do they lean liberal? Do they lean toward whatever Jay-Z and MTV tells them to?
