Mike: I realize that you've seen no overt proof that the short squeeze, which will ultimately happen, exists.

Take it from me, it does exist, and will definitely have a positive effect on the price of the stock. Believe me, I know.

Signed,
The Tooth Fairy

Have faith on the squeeze fairy. Remember, the request for certs doesn't immediately result in the squeeze. It is later down the time cycle when the discovery is made that your shares are shorted that the squeeze occurs. And even then the shorters will continue to stall for time and receive extensions. But the extensions ultimately end.

Analogous to David Smith's reference to musical chairs, during the period that people are asking for certs, the music is still playing, so all appears well. When the music stops is when the action begins. Initially, most of the shorters are finding shares, but as the share pool continues to decline, it is those few remaining shorters who will notice the pain, i.e., when there are 5 chairs for 7 or 8 people.
