Nokia (NOK) May Sue HTC Over Design of 8X Handset 9:31 AM ET, 09/25/2012 - Street Insider Is Nokia (NYSE: NOK) fixing to sue rival HTC over its new smartphone line? Maybe, but no official word is out from either party, yet. According to reports out Tuesday, Nokia is upset with the design of HTC's new 8X smartphone. The Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows Phone 8-based devices from HTC sport a similar rectangular shape and bright color scheme that is akin to Nokia's Lumia 820. Of course, Nokia and HTC are in litigation, with Nokia filing a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission in May over unauthorized use of proprietary technologies and innovations. However, that complaint is separate from today's chatter. HTC debuted the WP8 devices last week, pressuring Nokia shares in the process. The HTC 8X is pictured here. Shares of Nokia are up in early trading on launch of new Asha devices.
