Meathead,

This was reported in Computer Retail Week , Industry News , "HP, Packard Bell lean on Compaq", by Roger Lanctot.....
I'd give the link if I could find it but I do have hard copy.

The sub-zero market breakdown as reported by "Computer Retail Week" is as follows for October 1997:

CPQ 42.9% unit sales, 42.7% revenue
HWP 15% unit sales, 15.5% revenue HP Pavillon
BELL 33% Unit revenue

The article states that Compaq had 65.5% unit sales and 66.3 % of revenue in September.

Hence, there has been rapid marketshare loss in one month.

Thus, the jerk is wrong again!
