A national poll isn't "meaningless" in the sense that you're not likely to have a really decisive win one way or the other as long as the national polls are that close, if history is any indication.

But the swing state polls are very, very close -- with the three essential states leaning Obama but just barely outside the margin of error. We still have a month and a half to go, three debates and Romney has been reserving cash.
