Actually, I think Romney will benefit the most from having the topics given to his team beforehand. The word on him in debates is that he is quite good when he knows what will be happening, and things go according to script. He has a good memory, and will deliver his lines. He has problems, though, with having to actually think on is feet, and respond spontaneously to things he hasn't considered.

Advantage: Romney, in the first debate.

The town hall debate will be a different story, though. I don't think that that can be scripted.
