I disagree with it too. I think he doesn't have more supporters because the economy is weak, and because many of the people who supported him in '08 expected him to be closer to the "pinko socialist" that the right caricatures him as rather than the centrist who actually did try to bring the two sides together and failed pretty miserably at it. It isn't easy to do when one side just sits in a corner, holds its breath and says "NO!" over and over again. Even when being asked to play a game that he likes to play.
