Gary,
<---Ejabat was half serious, half joking about $100.>
Anyone buying ASND immediately becomes a major player in this sector. I feel that if ASND goes into play via a bid by CPQ or anyone else, there are going to be other major players come out of the woodwork. This company has too much going for it longterm, for other players to watch it go to one of their competitors, or soon to be competitors, at a "Firesale".

Look at MCIC, they were in trouble and their stock price had dropped after they had agreed to be bought by BT. BTgot greedy and reduced their offer. (to the low $20's I believe) WCOM looked at what MCIC had to offer and upped the bid to $41. Then GTE came out of left field and made an offer.MCIC went from a company at firesale prices to one with their pick of 3 suitors. They then told WCOM if they were serious, get there bid up. As you know, WCOM bid approximately $51.

I feel that any buyout is going to be way north of $40 and before it is over , we are going to see multible players involved.

(just my gut feelings) Jim

Gary:

<That being the case, I would suspect he is fully serious, not at all joking, about $50/share.>
Coincidently or so it will be 8(sales), cheaper than what LU paid for Livingston, which is very realistic.

<you can go back and check>
If I wouldn't have remembered that refernce well, I would take your word for it.
