Yep, I posted another article suggesting something similar. The recommendation was something along the lines of "let's just drive off the fiscal cliff". I thought that was an interesting idea. It does entail swallowing a great deal of short term pain, though. I'm not sure the American people are willing to do that, because it would put a 1-2% drag on GDP growth next year and throw us into recession. Either way, though, something must be done.
