Len, I hope there is an answer to this, as the question of the complete worship of the little patch of land now designated as Isreal, and a feeling of complete oneness and adoration of every single person who lives there, whether they be foaming at the mouth atheists, or whatever their spiritual and moral condition, is something I'm not sure I understand. I know that between the love Jesus the man had for the country of his youth, versus the absolute worship the born-again community gives it, is still unclear to me. I just don't see logic in it, and I'm glad someone brought it up. I believe there is a little more to this rubic cube than we yet have determined.

Jesus may come down on the Mount of Olives, which well may be one of the focal points of the earth if the new temple is built and the Pope is relocated to "the place of origin" as is planned by many, and openly hinted at in newsprint here and there. But as for the New Jersulam coming down on top of the old Jerusalem, does it?

I'm more interested in breaking down the barriers separating those who love the Father in Heaven by the name of Allah, and those who love the FAther in Heaven by the name God the Father, and those who love the Father in Heaven by the original name of Jehovah. That's where my priorities are, but I do want to know the significance of Isreal, because if I'm supposed to have any worship for it or the inhabitants, I just don't and need to be corrected.

So, I hope Jack and Shalom can shed more light on this from scripture, as the reality really is like you state. Somewhere between the two is the way God would have us see it, I'm sure.

Len, thank you for your observations. However, there is not too much we can do for a race/group of people that was liquidated like the Nazis did during WWII. Six million died. Terrible deaths. Beaten. Whipped. Shot point blank. The reason? They were Jews.
Their Arab half-brothers are just as hard on them---terrorist acts. Israel is being squeezed, squeezed, and squeezed some more. The reason this tiny nation is in the news every day is because God is not finished with them yet. One of these days the "veil" will be lifted from their eyes, and they will recognize Jesus as their Messiah.
In a sense, all of us have this "veil"---a film so to speak over our eyes. We say there are many ways to God, but Jesus said concerning himself: "No man comes to the Father, but through me."
So the central issue is really not what "religion" to follow, the issue is, what are we going to do about the claims of Jesus.
A Jewish Rabbi in Israel was asked one day by an American Church leader: "What if you were to discover that you have been wrong about Jesus, and that he indeed is the Messiah you have been looking for all of these years?"
The Rabbi suddenly had tears well up in his eyes after this confrontation, and with tears streaming down his face his choked out the following words" "I've been suspecting that Jesus is the Messiah for some times." Then he cut short the conversation and left---taking it no further.
Yes, we need to pray for Israel. We need to pray for the Arabs. We need to pray for "heathen" America. We need to pray for all countries, races, and cultures. And---to pray for one another.
"And Jesus came up and spoke to them say,ing 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 23:18-20

Have a great week.

Jack
