TJ, I hope you have a Globalstar phone for total coverage of Oz [though there are some holes come along since the constellation upgrade isn't quite finished] with backup SPOT in case you get lost in a snow drift, sand dune or trip over a kangaroo or something unpleasant. It could get very lonely out the back of beyond.
