Elmer,

Re: "What is the upper range for vcc before damage could be expected to gate
oxides? Is this the limiting factor to raising vcc?"

The .25um Intel process has a nominal supply voltage of 1.8V and has
been qualified for reliability at 10% above nominal (1.98V). My understanding
is that for the mobile products (Tillamook, others ...), the supply voltage
will be lowered to around 1.6V to reduce power. This will limit the
performance of mobile products to around 300mhz. I believe the mobile
Deschutes will be in this range.

Make It So,
Yousef

Elmer,
From what I get from www.anandtech.com under cpus then PentiumMMX, Intel has plans for a 266Mhz Tillamook (mobile Pentium MMX) and maybe a 300 and 333. Why not? We know that the Pentium MMX is cheaper than a pentium II, dissapates less heat and that speed ratings sell even though real world performance isn't that much greater.
