Skeeter,

<< dave, are being serious? their asp last q was $6.50. if their net cost (you didn't
specify net or gross and their is A BIG, VERY BIG difference) was $2.50 then
they would have made 90 mil * $4.00 = $360 mil. they made $50 mil. >>

I assume from the article I read it was net cost this quarter down from what i believe was almost 4 last quarter. What can be derived is a net gain of $2 this quarter vs $2.50 last quarter....Now I am not saying this is definitely the case but just throwing out for discussion.

But the fact remains there isn't too much understanding or agreement on this thread on what MU has really built this quarter and how well or bad they have been in reducing their costs.

My feeling of the semi industry in general is that the yields are getting much better than anyone has expected and the costs are now much lower so why wouldn't you expect MU to also be part of that benefit.

I am suggesting that 0 for earnings this quarter given a null from MUEI is not necessarily a shoe-in....Maybe that .16 last quarter for memory contribution might be 20% less (1 - 2.00/2.50) or $.128 = $.13

Just a different point of view and another way to rationalize.

Also this assumes a low SDRAM/DRAM ratio. If it is closer to 50% this quarter ....than .13 may be low.<g>

Just some food for thought. :-)

Good Luck Trading

PS: I think TER is a real interesting play whether you short MU or not
