<<Perhaps your view is distorted by the apparently fact that you are good at writing papers (either in an absolute sense, or relative to your other abilities or just academic abilities)>>

A lot of people find paper writing harder then the other aspects of education, and find college to be harder then high school, and graduate school to be harder then undergrad.>>

I am the worlds worst writer. I know because I have spent most of my life writing (badly). It has taken me 45 years to learn to write even half way decently. It just takes a lot of practise and putting up with lots of failure. As Hemingway said: "you write it a dozen times and then write it again." It is hard for most people, even Hemingway.

What I saw in college were a bunch of normal people. Lots of them from the streets like me. Like I said, most of us made it by just toughing it out. Lot's of all nighters. I am sure there were differences in IQ's but we didn't really notice it much.

If a person can get through high school they can get through college.

I do remember going to UC Berkeley as a kid and thinking to myself: "here are 30,000 people and they are all smarter than me. I was just an ignorant street kid then. By the time I got my masters at the University of Washington, I realized how wrong I was.

Now when I play hold em poker at the Oaks (in Berkeley), usually $30/$60, and run into a bunch of kids from UC Berkeley I have to humor them-lol. I also usuallly take their money. Well, I have 40 years of learning on them. How can they compete?

And I am sure they are all smarter than me. Have better hardware, biologically, but I have more software. than they do.
What do you think is harder in college thna high school? If you can read and write, spell your name, remember your phone number and balance your check book, that should do it.
